We don't have to seek out what comes to us naturally, sin and death and corruption. No matter what we do we find our natural tendencies always ready and willing to bring about our downfall. What we struggle with is what is unnatural to us, holiness and life and peace, which come from outside of ourselves. Yet if we are seeking the eternal, the unnatural, joyful incorruption of heaven, we need the supernatural transforming power of Christ. We cannot acquire it on our own. All we find in ourselves is the natural, including its inclination toward sin and death. Only Christ is both spiritual and natural, so only He can deliver us from our sin.
