She Wants to be a Widow When She Grows Up
One of the downfalls of reading 1 Kings to our daughters is that our 3yr now has aspirations to be a widow when she grows up (1 Kings 17). I explained that a widow does not simply mean a woman without a husband, but rather one who's husband has died. My 5yr therefore proceeded to offer her sister advice: "You have to marry someone who's really, really old when you marry him. Someone who walks with a cane even when you marry him." Should I warn any potential suitors about her career plans? I'm thinking it might make the teenage years a little bit easier...
