Lent Day 21

Luke 11:5-8
Sometimes we need to be very persistent in our prayers. We have a real need and the Lord is able to provide, yet He chooses to wait while we plead with Him again and again. This doesn't mean the answer is No, nor that He doesn't hear the first time, nor that He doesn't love us to give us what we need. Rather, perhaps we need to learn to recognize the difference between our needs and our wants. Perhaps by increasing our desperation we grow in understanding that it is the Lord providing for us, not ourselves nor other humans nor chance. Perhaps He wants to give us the blessing of a miracle by coming through for us when it's "too late". Whatever the Lord's reason this time to delay His answer to our prayer, it is clear that Jesus is encouraging us to persist in our prayer. Never give up in your petitions. Trust that the Lord does hear you and will respond as you persistently ask Him to provide for you in your time of need.
