Event/Theme: Shepherds
Symbol we use: Christmas ornaments with shepherds on them
Meditation: Every time in the Bible that an angel visits a human, the angel has to tell the human not to be afraid. Here, the shepherds were faced not only with an angel but also with the glory of the Lord and then with a multitude of angels. No wonder they were terrified. Yet instead of punishment they received the most wonderful news of their lives! And that wonderful news is for us also: whether we are poor shepherds living in the fields or wealthy kings living in palaces, our Savior has been born for us!
