I tend to view myself as the "older brother" in Jesus' parable of the Prodigal Son and as one of the "strong" here in Romans 15, not because of what I've done myself but because I was born and raised in a Christian home surrounded by strong Christian models to look up to. I haven't been drawn away to anything particularly dark or sinful and I have been abundantly blessed. I have been given so many, many blessings.
I need to be reminded to consider the needs of others and not concentrate so much on my own desires. Christ did not call me to be a Christian on my own; He called me to live in Christian community and to share His blessings with others. Anything less than that is pure selfishness.
