John 17:9-11, 20-21
We do not, as Christians, have the unity Christ Jesus prayed that we would have. We as individuals cannot force that unity by continuing to bicker, by destroying everyone who disagrees with us, or by pretending there are no differences in our beliefs. We can however pray that the God of miracles will answer His own prayer and restore unity to His Church. Today through next Friday is an opportunity for us to pray for that unity together with other Christians throughout the world. While there are small and large steps we can take to transform our disunity into unity, prayer is the foundation of every successful effort.
