John 21:1-14
It seems often that when one thing goes wrong, it leads to more things going wrong so everything escalates into a horrible day. Simon Peter sounds rather out of sorts and like the decision to go fishing is meant to turn around a poor day into a decent day. But then the fish have disappeared and if I were on that boat I think I would have felt like life was stacking itself up against me: no Jesus, His enemies seeking to kill me, our friends scattered, and now a day/night wasted with no fish, and so no income and no breakfast to eat. Yet just when it seems that things can't get any worse, Jesus appears and turns the entire situation around. He offers fish, food, companionship, and reassurance.Do you let God turn your day around when things aren't going the way you'd like them to? It's easy to stay in a negative mindset and make circumstances seem even worse than they are. Instead of allowing the circumstances stacked up against you multiply by your mindset, seek out Christ and invite Him into the situation. Let Him make things better whether by a word of encouragement or by turning a wasted fishing expedition into an immensely profitable one. Just having Him with you makes a huge difference even when the circumstances themselves still seem to be against you.
