Lent Day 8

Psalm 51:11-13

Have you ever experienced the awkwardness of a broken relationship? Someone does something that hurts another person but hasn't admitted that they were wrong or hasn't tried to fix the problem. Meanwhile, everyone feels out of place and hesitant, not knowing when they might say something wrong or do something that makes the situation even worse. No one is happy or peaceful.

Our ability to interact with Jesus can be like this too. Yet how quickly it changes when we ask Him for forgiveness! God always gives us more than we expect. He is always bringing us closer to Himself. We end up with an ability to relate to God that is even better than it was before we sinned. Not because we needed that sin to bring us closer to Jesus, but because He uses every opportunity to show us His love, even the things we do that block the relationship and need to be removed. God is so good to us!
