Lent Day 29

Luke 9:23-25
Lent is not meant to be easy because the Christian life is not meant to be easy. It's filled with tremendous blessings. We have all the help from God that we need along the way. It's far better than life without Christ. But it's not easy. The cross can be heavy and we are often weak. We follow Jesus already knowing that His path leads to pain, crucifixion, death. But we also know that there is resurrected life on the other side for those who faithfully follow Him along the whole way. The other option is to abandon the Christian life for an easier path, but there is no hope at the end of that road. As you consider today what sacrifices you are making, whether just for the day or for the whole of Lent, don't choose the easy stuff. Choose the painful road that is filled with hope.
