Lent Day 17

Matthew 6:9-13
We say this prayer in a lot of different settings, both privately and publicly. We say it with our family, in church every Sunday, and in ecumenical settings with a group who wants to say a prayer together that each and every member of the group is happy to pray though other prayers might be offensive to one member or another. But as easy as it is to run quickly through the prayer taught by Jesus to His disciples, it's important to take the opportunity occasionally to pray each line slowly and carefully. Are there any words or phrases that don't make sense to you? Look up their meaning. Are there any portions which you can't quite pray honestly? What do you need to do to change that? Is there someone you need to forgive or do you need to trust the Lord more to provide what you need for each day? Make a commitment now to make that change so you can pray these words honestly and sincerely.
