Lent Day 12

Mark 1:40-42

Sin eats us away on the inside just like leprosy was eating away this man on the outside. He could see the damage being done to his body and he wanted desperately to be healed. We can't see our souls with our eyes and the damage to them caused by sin, but the devastation is just as great. If we would choose to admit how ugly the sin is inside of us then we would also be desperate for healing and willing to pursue a relationship with Jesus no matter what it cost. Consider how Jesus responded: He knew this man with leprosy hadn't been touched since the disease was seen on his skin, so He reached out to touch him. God knows what we want more than anything else in the world. He knows what we need more than we know it ourselves. He knows what will express love to us like we have never experienced it before. And He wants to give it to us as soon as we are willing to receive it. Reach out to Jesus and He will always pour out His love into you.
