Event/Theme: Jeremiah, Weeping Prophet, Chosen by God
Symbol we use: Strands of beads to represent tears since Jeremiah is known as the weeping prophet. Tinsel would be perfect to hang today for the same reason.
Meditation: God calls each of us to serve in a unique way based on who we are and the situations we find ourselves in. Jeremiah had a difficult job trying to convince the Israelites who had rejected God to turn back to Him. God knew he had the ability because God Himself had given Jeremiah the gifts he would need for this very challenging vocation. What gifts has God given you? What situations has He put you in to serve Him in a way no one else can? No matter how old or how young you are, you have the ability to serve God. When the Lord asks you to do something, He knows that you really can do it because He Himself has given you the ability.
