Romans 4:19
Hebrews 11:1-2
Faith doesn't mature when everything falls into place like we want it to. It is through trusting God in the midst of hard times and impossible situations that our faith becomes something worth talking about.
Wouldn't it be nice if the opposite were true? Our lives would be much easier if we could become amazingly close to God with little or no effort on our part. Yet the stories we read in books and the tales we enjoy hearing from others are the adventures--NOT the easy, boring, nothing exciting tales. There is something very appealing to our human nature in the hero situated in impossible circumstances, taking a stand for what is right, and then the impossible situation being resolved, perhaps because hero stood up for what is right despite the challenges. We are the hero, the main character, in our own life story. The only right answer to our life challenges, whatever they may be, is faith in God. We can choose to despair, and fail, or we can choose to believe and hope in Him. He will always come through for us, though we may not see it until the circumstances seem entirely impossible and all reason for hope is gone. But that is when our faith matures into something worth talking about.
