Beyond death and taxes

Just as certain is the Judgment which will follow in the world to come. The government we live under might punish us for committing crimes against the laws imposed upon us, yet the far greater reason to live uprightly is our standing before the King of kings. Governmental authorities may do a great deal of harm to us if we disobey, but they are limited by the reality of death. God, however, is not. We don't want to find ourselves awkwardly avoiding Him when the death of our bodies makes it impossible to avoid Him any longer. Even the burden of taxes is incredibly weak in comparison to the tortures of Hell. The government might never catch you for breaking that law. But you will never escape from the Lord, who is not bound by the limits of death. So consider carefully once more, is the punishment worth the rewards of breaking that law?
