Our conversation on the way home covered a wide range of topics, including stars, planets, satellites, airplanes, states, countries, governors, presidents, and capitols. My daughters then asked me to name the first president of the U.S....the second...the third...the current...the previous...various others...In the midst of naming our nation's leaders, they decided (based only on names, mind you, and a tiny amount of 1st, 2nd, 3rd) to select their favorites. My 5yr couldn't decide between George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Her 4yr sister had one in mind but couldn't quite recall his name.
.
"Mommy, my favorite is the tennis president." "Uh, which one??"
.
We finally sorted out who she was referring to. Apparently "Thomas" (Jefferson) sounded to her like tennis.
