Too Many!

To help my daughters understand why they get different treatment at times because of who they are and what they're each capable of, I often connect it with their age. So, when we visit the library, my 4 year old gets to choose 4 books and my 2 year old gets to choose 2 books. The only problem is, they (especially the 4yr old) think it applies to everything they do. It seems perfectly reasonable in a preschooler's mind that one rule fits every situation and every person: library books, M&Ms, cheese cubes, toys, and even popsicles. We're working on understanding that it's not a hard and fast rule. No matter how hungry I am, I am not prepared to eat more than 30 popsicles in one sitting, even if I am their mother.
