Adopt a Grandparent

My kids are 4 and 2.5 years old, but some of their favorite homes to visit are those of people who are counting up their great-grandchildren. Thanks to my husband they are building relationships with adoptive grandparents and think that's completely normal. I wish it were in our day and age; we might be a much better society if it were. If you've never tried it, invite some older couples over for dinner or make a point to stop by and visit every week or so. Choose one couple to build a relationship with and they'll help pave the way to get to know other grandparents as well. After dinner with one such couple my younger daughter said, "I had so much fun!" Her sister agreed, "That was the best night of my life!"
