Romans 2:6
We can't rest on the decisions of our parents, nor are we going to suffer because of them. God has promised to judge each of us according to our own merits. For me, this says a lot about God's interest in a personal relationship with us. He doesn't just want to know our parents and grandparents, or the famously holy men and women throughout the ages, or the pastors and leaders of our churches. He wants to know each one of us. He wants to know us so thoroughly that His justice at the time of judgment will be intensely person, catered to our own works and not distracted by the actions or inactions of other people. His judgment of me will be a reflection of my life and only my life; his judgment of you will be a reflection of you and your life alone. Are you working toward that judgment being a positive one?
