PPT: Confession
Guilt can be a good thing. In some ways I want to feel guilt because it can motivate me to avoid doing things that I know are wrong. But sometimes we allow it to build up too far and we become so uncomfortable by it that we don't fix the cause of our guilt in order to stay as far away from it as possible. If guilt is preventing you from facing your sins and reconciling with God try reading Psalm 51 or 32 as a prayer coming from your own heart. Take care of the cause of your guilt by fixing your relationship with God and then use the memory of that uncomfortable feeling to help motivate you in the future to avoid sinning altogether. Praying a Psalm when I'm struggling to pray for myself Works for Me.
